  • Still here…

My folks didn’t end up visiting over Easter, but it ended up being a pretty busy weekend anyway. Thursday was Rubber Ball at Zero. Sadly, attendence was pretty light. Some years has seen over 1000 people, but we were sitting in the 600s at 1am when they let the 18+ crowd in.

Not too bad of a crowd though. The Front was dead and the Zero crowd was pretty well behaved. Saw a lot of people there who I haven’t seen in a while, but I was moving fast, so I didn’t really get a chance to talk much.

Anyway, ended up being a pretty late one by the time I got home, but fortunately, I had Friday off and took advantage of it by sleeping most of the day away. I like sleep, I don’t know why I avoid it so much.

I ended up taking Friday night off of Zero. I called in that I had an emergency to take care of. I think any reasonable person would agree that it was.

Saturday evening, made it down to Hard Times for some coffee with friends, which was pretty cool. We got a parking ticket. Ironic, I’ve been parking there for 8 years or so and never had a problem. This time, in someone elses car, ticketed. Wierd. I do need to get down to Hard Times more often, I forget how much I like it.

The guy that sells rings and stuff at fest and Half Time was down there. I can never remember his name, but he’s a friend of a friend.

Saturday night was kind of rainy and wet and had to be one of the slowest nights at Zero/the Front yet. The crowd at the Front was strange. There was a bridal party which is always interesting, and a lot of out of towners, so the 1 am bar time (because Minnesota is lame like that) didn’t go over great.

Got home moderately late but got a fair amount of sleep and had a lazy start to the day. I’m starting to like the concept of lazy sundays. And the modern date of Oestre to boot. (We celebrate the resurrection with bunnys and eggs on the first sunday after the first full moon after the vernal equinox which isn’t at all a pagan way of setting dates.)

Found out about the Easter lily thing recently. That’s kind of cool, especially ’cause you can plant them so they grow back each year.

Anyway, its going to be a bit of a lonley week this week, but I should take advantage of that to get lots of stuff done. Well, that and do band practice Tuesday, gaming Wednesday, the gig at the Lab on Thursday, and the gig in Shakopee on Friday. That and some of my freelance work.

Well, at least I won’t be bored.
