He served 25 years in U.S. prisons for his role in the struggle for Puerto Rican independence from US colonialism and the last 25 years furthering that struggle, linking it in solidarity with the working people of the Cuban revolution, the working people of Venezuela, and liberation movements globally. Jimmy Massey will speak at a public event with music by Pete Wagner and readings by well-known TC writers. Massey, a member of Iraq Veterans Against the War, is a twelve-year veteran US Marine Corps Staff Sergeant. He was honorably discharged in December of 2003. He took part in the initial invasion of Iraq and the drive to Baghdad. He witnessed and took part in the killing of innocent civilians which turned him against the war. He has recently completed a book “Cowboys From Hell” and is seeking a publisher. Please attend to hear Jimmy and his story!!! Sponsored by Veterans for Peace and Iraq Peace Action Coalition.
